During the entire world Economic Forum in Davos, Georgian Pm Giorgi Kvirikashvili met today with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. The parties discussed strategic issues regarding the relations between the two countries.
It was emphasized within the meeting that Georgia considers Ukraine its regional partner and is invested in deeper political, trade, economic, cultural, tourism, as well as other directions of cooperation.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Petro Poroshenko discussed European integration and visa liberalization as main concern issues for Georgia and Ukraine, expressing hope that Georgian and Ukrainian citizens will delight in short-term visa-free travel inside the EU as soon as 2017.
It was emphasized with the meeting that 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations backward and forward countries. The parties discussed plans of various events within this format.
During the conversation, the leaders present in countries reiterated their support of your territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and Ukraine.
The meeting in Davos was attended by Georgia’s Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Gakharia.
